Scoping and Other Papers

Two important steps in the planning process include scoping and consultation.


Scoping is the process of identifying the key issues that are important when developing a plan and sets the parameters for the planning process. Examples of scoping papers developed by Planning are;


Valuable information can be obtained about issues and services by talking to stakeholders such as local communities, staff and other government and non-government agencies. Consultation occurs in a variety of ways including interviews, focus groups, forums, surveys and stakeholder workshops. Examples of consultations conducted to inform our plans are;
